Merrimack Valley Sports Presents the NHsportspage Division I All-State Selections
2014-03-18
Manchester Central was the lone 22-0 team in New Hampshire
Today we recognize the top performances from the Division I Basketball season with our coach of the year, all-state picks and our player of the year.
NHsportspage First Team All-State
Eric Gendron of Merrimack
Jon Martin of Manchester Central
Brett Hanson of Manchester Central
Carmen Giampetruzzi of Trinity
Trevon Moughn of Manchester Memorial
Second Team
Yordy Tavarez of Nashua South
Sam Knollmeyer of Winnacunnet
Kyle Gavin of Bishop Guertin
Wenyen Gabriel of Trinity
Jordan Lates of Nashua North
Third Team
Joey Martin of Manchester Central
Charlie Nevejens of Spaulding
Cameron Meservey of Bedford
Shayne Bourque of Merrimack
Kabongo Ngalakulondi of Manchester Memorial
Darian Berry of Spaulding (couldn’t decide on the last two so I’m throwing six guys on third team…)
Player of the Year: Eric Gendron
Gendron was the leader out of the gates back in December and he never relinquished it with a spectacular senior season. Gendron was Merrimack’s go to scorer, point guard and arguably their best rebounder…he did it all for the Division I runner-up.
Runner-up: Jon Martin
Coach of the Year: David ‘Doc’ Wheeler of Manchester Central
We can argue all day long about who the best x’s & o’s coach in the state is but no coach was better suited to bring together a locker room that included two new starter, two new starters that as recently as last summer were complete unknowns to the Central basketball family. Wheeler pushed all the right buttons and Central never lost a basketball game.
Runner-up: Nate Stanton of Londonderry & Nate Mazerolle of Nashua South
The all-Angry Email team (players that could have made all-state but didn't and angry emails will be written to say just that...)
Luke Rosinski of Pinkerton Academy
Patrick Keefe of Trinity
Drew Coveney of Londonderry
Joe Marandola of Bishop Guertin
Cody Ball of Londonderry
Taylor Grande of Bedford
Ryan Brown of Bedford
Austin Franzen of Merrimack
Richie Ruffin of Winnacunnet
Dawson Dickson of Manchester Central
Zack Holler of Exeter
Max Medley of Exeter
Seimou Smith of Concord
Jacob Szulic of Concord
Ryan Otis of Trinity
Brad Rhoades of Trinity
Tyler Brown of Alvirne
Sam Bonney-Liles of Alvirne
Mike Felix of Salem
Eric Gendron of Merrimack
