Today we recognize the top performances from the Division III Basketball season with our coach of the year, all-state picks and our player of the year.
NHsportspage First Team
Robert O’Brien of Conant
Eli Hodgson of Conant
Andrew Houde of Newport
Zach Bergeon of Campbell
Christian Serrano of Winnisquam
Second Team
Jared Stauffeneker of Mascenic
Gabe Nichols of Hopkinton
Josh Joyce of Gilford
Brad Frenette of Berlin
Spencer Coronis of Newport
Third Team
Logan LaRoche of Prospect Mountain
Kaleb Orton of Gilford
Liam McNicholas of Hopkinton
Nick Burns of Fall Mountain
Aiden Dean of Laconia
Player of the Year: Rob O’Brien
O’Brien’s season really mirrored Patrick Welch’s of Pembroke’s in that he could have gone for 25 to 30 points every night in his senior season but realized that getting new starters like Nick Panagiotes & Nathan Wheeler involved was far more important to the ultimate goal. That goal was back to back titles and O’Brien, like Welch, pulled it off.
Runner-up: Zach Bergeon
Coach of the Year: John Langlois of Campbell
No seniors on the roster, one returning starter and only three players who played varsity basketball last season. All of that and Langlois had his team in striking range against Conant in the fourth quarter of the title game. Just a tremendous coaching job.
Runner-up: Don Picard of Berlin
The all-Angry Email team (players that could have made all-state but didn't and angry emails will be written to say just that...)
Dillon Dow of Inter-Lakes
Remmi Ellis of Newfound
Ryan Tanguay of Stevens
Ryan Murdock of Fall Mountain
Jake Sullivan of Laconia
Connor Noordsij of Kearsarge
Kyle Carland of Conant
