The Crosstown Motors GOTW - Central vs. Merrimack

2014-01-28

Despite being without star forward Eric Gendron down the stretch, the Merrimack Tomahawks were able to come all the way back from down 12 to within 1 point late in the 4th quarter but weren't able to get over the final hump as Central stays undefeated in Division I.

Merrimack falls to 7-1 but learned some valuable lessons on the road in Manchester Monday night as they got gritty performances from Austin Franzen (17 pts) and Shayne Bourque (12 pts) along with 14 from Gendron.  The Tomahawks guard play picked up down the stretch and the Little Green really had no answer for it except for the final buzzer which gave them the 3 point win.

Central was led by their version of the "big 3" in Jon Martin (17 pts), Brett Hanson (19 pts) and Joey Martin (21 pts) with PG Dawson Dickson playing the role of Rondo distributing the ball.  They move to 8-0 and now have sole possession of 1st place in Division I.
